catcher in the rye- chapter 26
The final chapter. Holden is in a mental hospital. He talks about how he misses everybody from his childhood. Including Stradlater, Maurice, and Ackley. I don't think he misses them because he liked them. I think he misses them because they were in a very important part of his life, his childhood. The story ends with Holden saying this; "Don't ever tell anybody anything. If you do, you start missing everybody." When Holden sais this I think he means that anybody that you interact with, at an important time of your life, you remember them forever. It doesn't matter how much you like them.
